I have the following questions to pose to the world of men that wear white sneakers:
- Why do men choose white sneakers over other kinds of sneakers?
- Are white sneakers chosen based on comfort, fashion, or both?
- Are wearing white sneakers reminiscent of boyhood memories? Or maybe white or black were the only color choices you were given as a child.
- How long have you been wearing white sneakers? And please state your current age.
- Do you ever wear white sneakers with dark slacks (i.e. Dockers) and dark socks?
- Do you polish or wash your white sneakers to keep them looking sparkling white?
White sneakers show that you are active and on the go. For most men, all shoes are for comfort. We feel an extra spring in our steps when the white sneakers are on our feet. Pure white is the best because it goes with everything. Keeping them white is a pride of the individual. A white pair of sneakers shows that you take care of yourself, just like buffing out your car.
ReplyDeleteSolid white sneakers are terrible, and mostly found on middle aged men in Levis, at least where I'm from. There are some youngersts wearing them as you noted but in the "skater" style shoe. These men all have similar looks to them as well (usually donning a mustache). The only psychology I can come up with is that these boomers sporting white shoes are stuck in the 80's when they were young and white sneakers were popular. Perhaps they are under the impression that white shoes make them appear younger and on the go, but do not realise they appear to be wearing bulky marshmellows with laces on their feet, and are accelerating their age by outdating themselves. This does not mean you need to wear clothes of a twenty year old, but for god sakes buy some stylish loafers (without tassles) or urban light weight boots. This type of foot wear is just as kind on the feet nowadays than a pair of inexpensive Nikes or New Balance.
